| Aloha!
Capt. Larry here with an update for the 2006 Fishing & Sightseeing
charter season.
The “Sea Master” and the crew officialy ended the 2006
charter season on September 10th.
Halibut
fishing stayed consistent from May 15th to September
10th. Overall average halibut weight
for Share Alaska Charters was 50 pounds. The “Sea Master’s”
biggest halibut of the season was a
215 pounder caught by Andy Jose of anchorage, AK. Highlight of the
halibut season was a 9 year
old fishing for salmon and catching a 100 pound halibut on 20 lb
test!
Fishing for
rockfish stayed steady thru the summer season with some large catches
of yellow eye
rockfish. Lingcod season opened July 1, with steady
catches of lingcod in the 40 lb range with
the biggest lingcod weighing
in @ 54 pounds!
Salmon
fishing reminded me of riding a roller coaster!
Fishing for silver salmon was up and down
and up and down. When fishing for silvers was good it was good!
and when fishing for silvers was
slow it was slow! Average weight of the silvers caught during the
charter season was 13 pounds!
The biggest silver salmon that won the Seward Silver Salmon derby
was 18.7 pounds!
As always the
scenery and wildlife was spectacular. Thanks to everyone that went
on a Fishing &
Sightseeing Charter with Capt. Larry & Capt.
Harry. Stay tuned for Share Alaska Charters update
for the 2007 Fishing & Sightseeing charter season!
