When fishing Seward, Alaska for Silver (Coho) salmon you can expect fast and furious action! Starting in late June till the end of August the waters around Seward, Alaska come alive with massive schools of aggressive hard fighting silvers. The silver salmon is called “acrobats of the sea”, for their ability to consistently leap out of the water when hooked. These fish average 8 to 13 lbs early in the season and as the season progresses these fish can average 14 to 18 lbs!

While knee deep into silver salmon fishing, it is not uncommon to hook a variety of other salmon. You could be reeling in a King (Chinook), Pink (Humpy), Red (Sockeye) or Dog (chum) salmon! When fishing near rock piles you could possibly catch an assortment of rockfish. The limit for silvers is 6 for each angler inside Resurrection Bay or 3 silvers outside of Resurrection Bay. Although you can catch 3 silvers outside the bay, you can come back inside the bay and catch the other 3 silvers!
